One day, Kerry Gross read a story on the back of a Clif bar and realized that she almost never saw any stories about inspiring women. Now, the adventure biker is on a mission: to ride from coast to coast, find America's most inspirational women and share their stories on her podcast, "Women Who Dare."

On Monday, she’ll be passing through Illinois, where she’ll be catching up with 8 convention-busting women in Chicago for interviews for her podcast, and participating in an event hosted by the nonprofit lift-UP-lift, which supports women-led endeavors. We spoke with her while she was in Minneapolis.

Reports of elder abuse are on the rise in Illinois. As America’s population ages, there are more than 50 million seniors in the U.S.

We spoke with Lois Moorman, she’s the adult protective service program administrator with the Illinois Department on Aging and Paul Greenwood, deputy district attorney and head of the elder abuse prosecution unit in San Diego County, California to talk about what elder abuse looks like in Illinois and how other states are tackling this problem.
